Peri.... What questions come to your mind when you look at the cover? Where are they going? Why is there only one fancy building? Are their living conditions bad?
What do you think the story is going to be about? What do you think might hyappen just by lookng at the cover? Girls who live on a mountain will go on a long journey. One of the girls is independent.
hey! i was wondertng how you would react to being sent to the academy, because personally, i would be pumped! being a princess would be sweet, (and rich) and even if i didnt get picked, a year of good food and education in being proper would be cool. although i can see how miri might think differently. :)
Hi peri, today May 7 we are going to read chapters 2&3. How do you like the book so far I love it. I got very interested in the book when the guy was talking about the academy.
I felt bad when the soldiers came and took Miri. They did not take her sister because she was a little bit older than the prince. But they made Miri go. If I were Miri I would have bee nvery scared. She had no choice but to go to the academy.
peri Do you like the book so far? I do I love it. I think it is a great book. I love reading though. Princess academy is very interesting. It really has some good words.
Peri What are some questions that come to your mind when you think about this book?
Some of my qeustions are.... Would you like to be named after a flower? I would. Do you think Miri likes Peder? I do Would you be nervous if you went to an academy with people you did not know very well ? I would not want to.
jordyn- i dont think it would be too bad to be named after a flower, periwinkles are my personal favorite flowers. i do think miri likes peder and i think her wish had to do with that. about chapters 2&3- i feel sorry for gerti, being so young and getting such a horrible punishment. i dont think that they're in store for a very nice time at the academy, what about britta? personally i dont trust her. about chapter 4- i was hoping that olana wouldnt get violent, but she has defied me,(she never was a very good friend) and what about the academy princess thing, do you think miri will acheive her aspiration? im not sure. do you think that olana is just using that to get them to work harder? i think she might just give to whomever acts as the teacher's pet, not who actually improves the most. Peri I agree with you. Periwinkles are very pretty flowers. I also agree with you about Gerti.She is the youngest and she was the first one to get in trouble. If it was my first day at hte academy I would not want to get locked in a closet.
Peri I sent you a book mark with things that are my favorites. Like my favorite color is blue my favorite animals are horses dogs and polar bears. My favorite sprots are basketball, softball, and volleyball. Peri what are some of your favorites.
About chapter 4 now. I was thinking. I think that Tutor Olana went to the Princess academy and got treated like she is treating the girls. I also think when she went there she did not get picked. -Do you think it was fair to punish Gerti and Miri? I don't think it was fair because all Miri was doing was helping Gerti because she missed the first class. It was not fair to hurt them.
Hey, I thoght it was gross when Miri was locked up in the closet and there was a rat. It's tail had touched miri on her neck. How gross would that be? -JOrdyn
well, my favorite color is bright yellow, my favorite animal is a dragonfly, or a panda. i think that you might be right about olana and the academy, maybe we'll find out later! i cant believe thatwhole thing about the closet, it is disgusting! i also think that the whole thing with quarry speech is weird, do you think it really was? im not sure. i think the other girls are being kind of hard on miri, dont you, i just dont think it's fair that they're blaming mirir for everything now. how can they be mad at her for being good at the academy? and i would prob ably rank this book 85% which is pretty good, i would rank it higher but i've read a lot of good books this year. but i think if had read it when i was in fourth grade i would have ranked it really high too.

Peri it is ok that you are behind. I understand I am only on chapter 11. I think by Monday or tuesdaday we should be on chapter 13 or 14. If that is ok.If you can not read that much in 3-4 days it is ok. I get behind to. So try to be on chapter 13 or 14 by Tuesday. I forgot to take my book home a couple of times. -Jodyn
Peri another question i have is... - Why do you think Miri's dad won't let her work in the quarry? That is a question that has been running through my mind. I think that somebody in her family had got hurt or had some bad memory well they were working in the quarry working in the quarry. so that is why she can not work in the quarry. -Jordyn

i think that i am on chapter fourteen do you think that peder and miri will fall in love? i do. why do youthink the atempt at escaping the acadamy didnt work? i think that they were being ridiculous, they should just wait, she has to let them leave eventually. i think that the way they negotiated the "terms" was clever though, because she could not easily not accept them and proving that they were learning was probably the best thing they could do. have you read more about quarry speech yet, or have we not gotten there? talk to ya latyer peri

Hey peri, I am on chapter 13 today. It is Tuesday. I am at home right now because i am sick. I will try to read to chapter 14 today. You can read to chapter 15 or 16 if you want and by Friday we should both be through chapter 18. That is page 222. Can you just tell me what chapter you are on and I will try to catch up. I think we should be through chapter 18 by Friday. I don't think we should read any farther then that though. -jordyn

I also think it is cool that she is learning how, Because she has never worked in the quarry and she is proving that you don't have to work in the quarry to know how to speak it. Hey it's me again i am back to school. I am feeling better. So we are going to read through chapter 18 (page 222) By Firday. So Miri and the girls from the academy are planning something to do to tutor Olana. They said Miri should speak for them. Do you think that is a good Idea? Miri has got in a lot of trouble at the academy so far. Do you think there plan will work? I think it might work. I have not read through chapter 13. By the way What chapter are you on. Hi Jordyn, Peri has been gone from school just like you were earlier this week. This is why she has not had the chance to write to you. The Spanish students are also studying for a big test that they have next week, so she has also been busy with this. I will make sure to have her write as soon as she gets back to school.
What I want to know is...would you want to be in Miri's shoes? Can you relate to her at all?
I was always the student who spoke up to the teacher like Miri does to Olana when I was in school. I don't like seeing my friends and class mates treated unfairly, just like Miri doesn't. I never got into trouble like she does though.
If you could speak quarry talk what would you use it for?
I would use quarry talk to talk to my friends without others knowing. It would be great to be able to think what I wanted to say and not have to call on a phone!
hey miss. Neff sorry to hear that Peri was sick. If i could quarry speak it would be so cool. I would not have to use a phoneand i also would not have to know so many phone numbers.
I don't really relate to Miri. I have always had a nice teacher. But I think I might like to walk in her shoes and see what it is like to go to an academy. But I don't think it is fair to send students to a closet with a rat in there,and when tutor Olana forgot about I felt really bad. But then when Gerti had reminded Olana about Miri Olana took her out of the closet.
